Signifying a wide range of treatments, ‘spa’ was originated from Latin word „Spargere“ meaning “sprinkle or moisten”. Being one of the oldest healing arts, the practice includes treatments for several ailments, physical rehabilitation, massage therapies, etc. that have proven to be beneficial for chronic conditions like arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, and smoking cessation. It also helping in relieving the stress and tension of everyday life that leads to disease and illness. Massage, bodywork, and somatic therapies are defined as the application of various methods for the treatments in spa. There are several kinds of medicinal oils, lotions, and powders that are used simultaneously in the process and the application of many techniques that may include stroking, kneading, tapping, compression, vibration, rocking, friction, and pressure to the muscular structure or soft tissues of the human body.
